I have lived long enough to learn from my children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Recently I learned a new word from one of my nice nieces:

“WHITESPLAINING

Whitesplaining is the act of a white person explaining topics to people of color, often in an obliviously condescending manner, and especially regarding race- or injustice-related issues.

Like many people I pray we are at a moment in American history when there is new resolve for new laws that “bend the Arc of History toward Justice.” I pray that as a country we will turn away from Racism and toward equality.

I have just listened to two remarkable hours where significant people of color EXPLAIN where our country is now and “Where we need to go from here!”

Here are the links.

Where Do We Go From Here? (Part 1)

Where Do We Go From Here? (Part 2)

Perhaps the best learning was about this podcast from a son-in-law.

This is perhaps one of the best discussions I have heard about how to have good conversations with people with whom we disagree!

The title is not new.

Hear what M.L. King said about this in 1967.
